Faruk Elhan was born in 1934 in Kilis. After he graduated from Kilis Art Institute at 1954, he started to work as a train machinist at TCDD. Four years later at 1958 he started to work at Sayıştay Başkanlığı (Court of Exchequer) and retired from there at 1981. He worked as an bibliopole for almost 60 years in Ankara. His “Kilis Dialect and Karacaoğlan” book published at 2004 and 2010. He still collecting documents about Kilis for his research and continuing his photographs, graphics, paintings and abstract sculptures for his affinity of art. He is a member of “Art Work Owners Professional Association” (GESAM). He is married and has three children and a grandson.
